Happiness will make your life more enjoyable and you will also have better health, better well-being and you will live longer. To make the most of life, you will have to carry out the smile challenge for a week. You can consider it as a smiling experiment that will last 7 days of your life … But that can change you forever. If you commit to following these steps to smile more, you will be on the right path to living a happier and healthier life.

Steps to your happiness

To be able to do the happiness challenge you will need to follow a few steps:

What you have to do

During the week you will have to focus on smiling more. This way you will develop a way of remembering to smile even if it means continually forcing the smile. Why? Because if you smile, your mood really improves. Try it, you will be surprised with the results …

How does it work

By forcing a smile, a specific set of muscles in the face is activated. That set of muscles is closely related to the emotions of happiness and joy. By smiling, you are signaling to the emotional centers in your brain to tell them that everything is okay. So even if everything isn’t fine, it will be soon.

Get motivated to do it!

Smiling more is a simple way to vastly improve the quality of your life. All you have to do is smile and you will be a happier person. Really. It’s that easy.

How to get the challenge

In order to get the challenge, you must try to smile more this week. How can you get it? Smiling is the natural response to something fun, happy, or pleasant, so you probably don’t need help with your automatic smile response. In this sense, you will have to try to smile where you normally do not, such as at work.

Practice smiling

To be an expert in something you need practice and in smiling too. Smile. Do it right now while you are reading this. Put a big warm smile on your face. That is not a fake smile but a real smile, as if you were seeing your friend after several years without seeing him.

Now think of something unhappy but keep smiling. It’s hard to keep an unhappy or negative thought in your mind while keeping your smile on your face, right? Smiling can help increase happiness and decrease negativity.

A sign to smile

Once you have practiced smiling and understand a little more about how smiling can improve your mood, the trick is to smile whenever you can as the day progresses. You may need a reminder to smile more often. It can be something you hear, see, or do often throughout the day, like your smile signal. You can choose a sound on your phone, or when a notification sounds on your smartphone.

You can also choose an action, such as getting in or out of your car, home … to remind you to smile. You can choose a visual reminder, such as seeing someone drinking coffee or seeing someone laughing. Challenge yourself to smile every time you find your cues throughout the week.

Stay motivated

People who smile the most while talking make a better impression because they seem more confident and friendly. This is liked by everyone. It is even possible to ‘hear’ a smile while talking on the phone. If you smile while answering a call, the tone of voice clears up and you will have a better connection with your interlocutor.

Commit and do it! Do you need other tips to get it? Keep reading:

    • Don’t feel strange with your smiles, you are just trying to have a better frame of mind. The smallest smile works for you.
    • Think of things that you really like when you smile.
    • Take a deep breath while smiling to reduce stress.
  • Put on reminder notes to remind yourself to smile.

Taking a smile to the next level means laughing. Find out how you can laugh more this week. You don’t just want to have fun, you want to laugh out loud. Laughing out loud, like smiling, creates an emotional state that relieves stress and lifts your spirits. Read jokes, watch movies, and talk to funny people.
