There are many people who, when they are in the middle of changes in their life, become so stressed that they can even generate serious anxiety disorders. An anxiety that could be avoided if they adapt better to the changes that inevitably occur in life. Although it is not always so easy for everyone.

You just have to look at how life can suddenly change and turn everything upside down in a minute. It can be a job change, a change of home, a pregnancy, a divorce, the death of a loved one, an illness or a disability. There are many circumstances that can turn your life “upside down” … and that the changes make you feel nervous in your stomach.

React to sudden changes

How do you react when faced with a sudden change? People tend to respond to any situation in life with two emotions : love or fear. Either we allow ourselves to expand when we feel positive or we feel paralyzed and stuck when faced with difficult challenges.

Some people may accept the uncertainty and face the challenge, while others cautiously withdraw and refrain from doing things differently. You may even think that people you admire who show a positive disposition are born that way, but the reality is that many times they have stepped out of their ” comfort zone ” and have experienced small victories by not giving in to fear. Only after effort can we see results … And it is that sometimes, you have to do things with fear … but do them!

If you don’t know how to deal with change and you often succumb to fear and anxiety, don’t miss the following strategies to help you thrive in the midst of change.

Improve your attitude

To improve your attitude you need to reward your brain. The words and language you choose are extremely powerful in transforming your negative mindset into a positive one. Words have the ability to shape your thoughts , because what you focus on is what grows inside you. So be aware of your thought patterns in the midst of change.

You can have a more positive mind if you “reconfigure” your brain so that you are able to dominate your thoughts instead of allowing them to dominate you. To achieve this, follow these strategies:

    • Collect and verbalize the thoughts that have meaning for you
    • Keep a gratitude journal to jot down special memories that remind you of the good things in life.
  • Be kind to yourself and acknowledge the good things you do and that you always do what you can.

Communication relieves anxiety

When you can trust others, you open the channel for communication . By being willing to express your fears, it allows you to brainstorm your options. Your confidant can offer you a listening ear, perspective, or solution that you may not have previously considered.

Commit yourself

Gathering the courage you need to face an unexpected change does not show the absence of fear but the option to take a bold step in some direction instead of standing still. Once you commit to a path of action, see how meeting the challenge will increase your confidence . The important thing to remember is to create value by experiencing small victories, one by one. Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says, “I’ll try again tomorrow.”

Patience!

As you ponder your options in the midst of a change, your instinct gives you clues within your emotions. Rest and focus on how you feel at all times, if you feel bad for any reason it is a sign that you should change what does not make you feel good. Time also implies being patient and flowing between doing and being. Take on new skills , for example, and allow time for new knowledge to rest.
