There are many people who are too kind in their lives, and it seems that they cannot help it . You need to know if being too nice might be a problem for you. If you have ever been told that you are too nice or that you like to please people, it is more than likely that you are too good to others and not so much to yourself. It’s time to start being aware of your actions and notice in the next few days if you notice any of these warning signs in your behavior .

You apologize for everything

You feel the need to apologize for every mistake you make when bumping into someone in the office and forgetting to return a phone call, for example. This can also turn into apologizing for things that are not your fault or even apologizing for something that is completely out of control, meaning that it is not your fault or anyone else’s.

The next time you apologize that it is raining, you may need to address that you have a personal problem on your hands. Saying “I’m sorry” is a good way to admit wrongdoing and try to fix a problem. A person who is overly nice wants to avoid conflict at all times, and in his mind, those two words are a quick fix to everything.

Unfortunately, that is not always the case, and it is not always necessary . Don’t waste your breath apologizing for something small and irrelevant or something that wasn’t even your fault to begin with.

You give everyone the benefit of the doubt

You have a big heart and you don’t want to believe that someone can hurt just for the sake of doing it. Unfortunately, people aren’t always nice, so giving everyone the benefit of the doubt puts you at risk of being proven otherwise later. Under certain circumstances, it’s okay to believe in second chances, but it’s important to be smart and consider the context.

People who consistently give others the benefit of the doubt are often seen as naive people who are easily taken advantage of. Nobody likes being taken advantage of …

You are not able to defend yourself

You constantly hear from others: “You need to defend yourself.” This is something you are aware of, but you can’t seem to conquer. Every time you convince yourself that you are going to speak your mind , there are no words and the fear of confrontation leaves you cowering.

You envy people who are not afraid to let it out , and wish or be afraid to do the same. This is a quality that is redeemable at times when standing up for yourself can get you in trouble, but it is important not to allow others to trample you.

You are very generous

You are the first to share your belongings if it helps someone and you have a sense of satisfaction when you can offer help. Christmas is not your favorite holiday because you receive gifts, but because you enjoy giving them.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with enjoying providing to others. After all, sharing is kind. However, if you’re not careful, this can get others taking advantage of you in the blink of an eye . If you’re known for being the one to always provide, some people may start using you for just that, no matter how you feel. If you never say no to anything, others will know and want to benefit.

You work harder than everyone else

Giving 100% in everything you do is not enough, you are always fighting for more. Again, this is a golden quality to have in a person and professional. However, people who are “too nice” tend to work harder to make up for the lack of work from others.

Not only do they work harder, but they do it quietly most of the time . This is where the “too nice” part comes in. This type of person allows others to take credit for their work , which can lead to workplace tension and stress … Others will pick up on this and take advantage of you, no matter how bad you feel about it.

You neglect

You always put others above you and prefer others to be well regardless of how you are. Whether it’s your family, friends, or coworkers, you tend to put your needs on the back burner without even realizing it. Before you know it, you’ve spent all your extra money on the milk and eggs your friend needs and you can’t afford the haircut you really need.

Staying healthy and happy is vital to a balanced lifestyle. Although some may think so, it is not shameful and selfish to put your own personal needs before those of others . It’s okay to consider yourself to be kind to others and to enjoy doing it. It’s even acceptable to align yourself with some of the qualities mentioned without necessarily being deemed “too nice.”

It is when you begin to allow yourself to slip into the depths of life because you are drowning in commitments made of friendship that such characteristics become a problem. When you can’t live your life because you’re living someone else’s, that ‘s when you have to stop short and think that you have to remedy it as soon as possible . It is not bad that you are selfish from time to time, that you think of yourself and say no when you don’t want to say yes.

It is an identity that many hide behind personal fears and anxieties, but realizing these qualities is the first step towards more balanced and rewarding relationships with everyone.

If after reading this article you have realized that you are being too kind to others and that you have stopped being kind to yourself , change your way of acting! You are the one that really matters in your life and you ALWAYS have to be number one . Take care of yourself, love yourself, and everything will be better than you imagine.
