Nobody likes to suffer. So why are so many people showing signs of suffering? Stress, anger, and regret are common emotions you feel on a daily basis. As much as you try to avoid them, you will always end up feeling some of these negative feelings. But in order to stop suffering it is necessary that you learn to detect and avoid it, although not look elsewhere at the reasons that cause it.

By doing this, people can regain control of their more positive emotions . Believe it or not, unhealthy eating and lack of exercise are related to suffering and fear. The reality is that self-pity can damage a working mindset. It can cloud the truth, causing people to believe things that can harm their future.

The miracle of the habit of self-pity

If there is something that makes you feel unhappy, that makes you be in stress all the time, you postpone things because you cannot get to everything, you get distracted, you get angry with other people or in general you are not satisfied with your life, it is necessary that keep in mind that things can change, if you want them to change.

Can you imagine that there was a cream that could alleviate all the ills in your life? Would you apply it? That evil has a name and is called suffering. We all suffer every day, to a greater or lesser extent, and the causes can be very varied. But that cream also has a name, it is self-pity. It is a practice that if you do it daily you can improve all areas of your life.

Explore your suffering

You need to think about how you can explore your suffering and find out what it is that is causing you discomfort. Usually people suffer more than they should and sometimes without realizing it. You do not have to suffer a lot to feel discomfort, small sufferings also hurt you and affect your happiness and also those around you. Some causes of suffering are:

1- Stress. The work or daily responsibilities may cause you stress and make you suffer. Self-compassion would reduce this suffering and allow you to deal with situations more calmly, increasing your levels of happiness throughout the day.

2- Frustration. Little frustrations happen all the time. Self-compassion can help you defuse frustrations and handle situations appropriately.

3- Get angry with others. When another person makes you angry, the other person does not make you angry, you get angry by yourself and this makes you suffer. This can cause you unhappiness but instead of affecting your relationship with others, it is best to apply self-compassion and calm yourself to respond well to the situation, even feeling compassion for the other person.

4- Feeling bad about yourself. There are many reasons why you can feel bad about yourself and it can lead to actions that are harmful to you. Self-pity relieves this pain and leads not only to more helpful actions but to happiness .

There are many other causes that can cause you suffering, such as not exercising, lack of gratitude, lack of empathy from other people with you, etc.

Ways to apply self-compassion in your life

This is a method that you can practice through a daily habit, to help with suffering in all its forms:

1- Observe the suffering and discover why it happens to you.

2- Look at your suffering as it is. Feel it. Don’t hold it back.

3- Accept suffering instead of ignoring it. Accept that suffering is part of life, and that if you do your part it is temporary.

4- Wish your happiness and the end of your suffering. Give yourself a mental hug.

5- Let go of that suffering in your heart. Release it or set it aside. Appreciate things as they are. You must be present in your reality.

6- Be grateful for your current reality and for the strength you have to be able to change your reality to make a better one.

To achieve this, you will have to practice it every day and your life will improve in all aspects.
