Friends are a fundamental part of your life, in fact, some of them may feel like they are part of your family . They are not just the people you spend most of your time with, but they are also the people who know you best. Sometimes friends use this knowledge to bring us down, but true friends use it to strengthen us.

These are just a few of the reasons why having good friends is so important. Because your friends are important in your present, but they are even more important in your future, do you want to know why? Keep reading…

You look like them

The more time we spend with our friends, the more we tend to be like them. Words and phrases they use when they speak get “stuck” to us, and we begin to use them ourselves, or we notice the type of clothing they wear, and slowly we begin to shop at the same stores where they shop; sometimes we even start dressing like them.

Its influence can extend to the choices we make daily, the habits we adopt, and the kinds of things we spend our money on . Therefore, you need to surround yourself with people whose influence propels you in the right direction.

Friends show you true love

Our friends are some of the first people to love and accept us as we are . They appreciate our quirks that we think no one will be able to understand, and they notice good things about us that we don’t even realize are there. On the journey to loving yourself, it helps to have people around you who can remind you of your wonderful qualities, especially when all you can think of is that they are not so wonderful.

The more people you have around you who openly love you for who you are, the more you will begin to see yourself as lovable and the more comfortable you will feel in loving and affirming yourself. When you find those people, be sure to keep them close.

They are your consolation

Every time you go through a difficult time or when you have to make an important decision, your friends are the first people you turn to. They will see things from a different perspective, something that will help you, and they will always want the best for you. They are not afraid to tell you the truth when you need to hear it, even when you don’t want to hear it. They may save you from making bad decisions that you later regret, and they can help you make other good decisions.

They are by your side when you are down

Having a conversation with a friend is one of the best cures for when you feel bad . Friends know exactly how to cheer you up when you’re low on energy. You need a friend or two to remind you that it’s not the end of the world when you make a bad future decision or when you have a disagreement with your partner , and it encourages you to keep pushing with a positive attitude.

They help you stay on the right track

One of our friends’ jobs is to help us stay focused on our goals when something comes up that seems more tempting but isn’t the right thing to do. Your friends will remind you of the path to follow to maintain your well-being.

They rescue you when you need help

Whenever you need help, your friends will be by your side to extend their hand whenever they can and within their possibilities. They want the best for you just like you want the best for them, and that is undoubtedly a good true friendship .

They are your second opinion regarding your appointments

Although friends don’t necessarily know who your future partner is, they can help you figure that out for yourself.  You tell them your dates and if they are a person who fits you, they may be introduced to them before anyone else. True friends are honest, even when they know that their honesty is not always appreciated.
