At present, many people live day by day with a feeling of inferiority or who suffer from it at certain specific moments in their lives. This feeling is translated into a distorted image of oneself after comparing it with other people who, on many occasions, are idealized.

The main thing when dealing with this feeling is to know the causes that cause it to appear or what is the same, to ask what may be causing the person to feel inferior compared to the rest. This may be due to a past problem or bad experience that has left a negative mark on the person, or simply a lack of confidence in oneself and in their abilities . In the same way, the lack of realism in the gaze of these people with respect to the rest of the world can also influence that they feel inferior, since they idealize situations and other people, belittling themselves at the same time. In short, the most common causes for this feeling are usually:

    • Physical aspects of the person
    • Some aspects of the person such as sweat or certain gestures
    • Being surrounded by people who have not known how to value the aforementioned and have been aggravating their insecurities
    • Thinking negatively staying only with the bad
    • Being an extremely demanding and perfectionist person
  • Don’t accept a defeat or you can’t always be the best

What symptoms does the feeling of inferiority have?

Once the causes that cause the feeling of inferiority have been known, it is good to focus on some symptoms that will allow us to recognize it in any person and more if they occur mostly and constantly. Some of them are:

    1. Constantly underestimating yourself and not trusting your abilities
    1. Refusal to relate to other people in a natural way
    1. The need to win over others and seek their approval
    1. The uncertainty and fear to decide or act
  1. The pride to verbalize the triumphs of other people

How to overcome this feeling?

Once the feeling of inferiority is clearly identified and an explanation is given for its emergence, it is when the need to fight against it and stop it appears . In order to achieve this, there are a series of tips that will be recommended to follow or take into account. Some of them are:

    1. Determine specific situations: It is about being aware and analyzing those situations that make the person feel inferior. That is, those that give free rein to that feeling of inferiority. Being able to know the causes is perfect to find the remedy to solve these problems by working on them.
    1. Accept yourself and not compare yourself: Although it is good to look beyond yourself, make self-criticism at certain times and listen to the other, the fundamental thing to get rid of any feeling of inferiority is to accept yourself and not look for an ideal in the rest of people since everyone has their flaws and no one is perfect. Likewise, it is good to understand that each person has skills and that some will have to work more on certain aspects than others to reach the same point.
    1. Be natural and not mask yourself: Related to the previous point, it is important to try to be as natural as possible at every moment of life and not try to be someone you are not as this will not provide complete happiness and will continue to create inferiority problems out of the desire to achieve an ideal that can never be fully possessed. Everyone has complexes and the fundamental thing is not only to overcome them but to learn to live with them without them torturing people’s lives.
    1. Fight the negative: Many times, whether due to certain past traumas or complexes, people tend to suffer from an inferiority complex since their mind plays tricks on them and always thinks in a negative way. Therefore, it will be good to work on positivism and have a much more cheerful attitude to any type of situation that arises. I mean, if others were able to do that, why wouldn’t you get it?
  1. Recognize the positive: People with an inferiority complex tend to see only what they do not have or are unable to achieve or are resistant to. However, it would not be too much to remember what they have or what they have achieved. In life, good and bad things happen . Therefore, it is not only good to remain in the frustration of what is resisting but also to enjoy and keep in mind what was possible. In this way, people will be able to gain self-confidence and thus take another attitude that allows them to let go of this complex or feeling of being inferior to the rest of the world.

Once the causes and advice are known to be able to fight against this feeling of inferiority, only the initiative will be necessary to be able to completely end it.
