There are people who have an existential crisis when they reach 40, but the reality is that it is a perfect age to feel emotionally free and enjoy freedom in general. Turning 40 may seem like the end of the world, but there are many reasons why it is only the beginning of the best years of your life!

It is the dreaded age, when we are supposed to settle down and plan to knit and bake homemade cakes while our children go to college and our devoted spouse holds our hands during the golden years … But the current reality is that no longer it has to be like that at all and even less if you don’t want it to be like that.

Nicknamed the new 20 years, those who reach the age of 40, realize that it is not so bad . They discover that they can do things that they did not do before. Next, we are going to tell you why turning 40 can be so fabulous for you.

Liberty

For the first time in a long time you don’t have to obey the rules that life has imposed on you. Your parenting or parenting duty is done , or just about to end, and you have more free time than ever before. Your partner , if you still have one, does not need your constant attention so you have options on how to enjoy your free time.

You can choose to do anything from yoga in the park to going back to school to earn your Ph.D.  There is nothing to stop you anymore. At some point along the way, you have lost the fear that you had around your neck in your youth because life has taught you that if you get knocked down, you just get up again. It’s that easy!

It can be a lot of fun

You no longer care what people think of you. You do what you want, you dress and eat as you please and you go to the places you want when you feel like it. Those long years of slavery to jobs that you didn’t dream of having back in the day, but that became as much a part of you as the wrinkles on your beautiful face, no longer look like a burden.

Now you know how much you are worth. Now you can buy what you like and lie on the sofa to watch a movie without caring about anything else in the world than living in the present and enjoying every moment.

It’s fabulous

Others may think that you are going through a midlife crisis , but the reality is that you have to live your life regardless of what others think or say about you. People will talk about you no matter what you do, so live it. It’s your time to shine!

Put on that outrageous feather hat and those 3-inch heels and get to work, girl. Plan a trip, pack your bags, and just go. Don’t get bogged down in someone else’s worries. You survived your problems, and they will survive theirs . That’s not to say that you still can’t help people because, after all, you’re fabulous, and that’s what great people do. But, don’t stop living life because they think you’ve hit rock bottom. They just can’t see (yet) that the deep end is where all the fun is.

As you can see, turning 40 is not so bad and you can get a lot out of these wonderful years that are waiting for you and that will undoubtedly come. If you are healthy, you look good and you are happy with life, what more could you ask for? Live the moment!
