No matter what circumstances you are currently experiencing, life is a gift . Waking up every morning, being able to breathe and enjoy your day is simply the most wonderful thing there is, as long as you know how to take advantage and have the right attitude . And it is that life is too short to waste it.

Life is too short

‘Carpe diem’ is used as a slogan for the Institutions and is shared on the Internet with motivating images as if there is no tomorrow. There is only one tomorrow that really exists. Still, you don’t know if you will be a part of it or not . Just assume that you will, and rightly so.

The point is, you should also know that time is limited. When you realize that, you will learn to seize the moment, even if you still plan to be here a hundred years from now. We are going to tell you some ways for you to realize that life is too short and that you should live it, here and now!

Think that today is the last day

Think about the concept that today is the last day . If you were on the last day with a person, be it your best friend, your mother , your dog or your partner, what would you do differently? What secrets would you reveal? Where would you go with them? What would you like them to know about you, your relationship with them, and life in general? What would your gift be to them?

In most relationships, we begin to take people and even animals for granted . We hope they are there when we expect them to be there. Some of their habits bother us. Sometimes we get stuck in being upset with some of their habits, missing out on other aspects of the relationship. Treat someone like you would if you only had one night with them , as if today were their last day of life. Do it like this always and you will see how your interpersonal relationships improve remarkably. Of course, do not stop planning a future with them, but explore how different you would see them if you knew that it is the last time you would be by their side. As the saying goes: you don’t know what you have until it’s gone …

Pay attention

Do you listen to people or are you always waiting to speak? Do you do your best to understand people or are you always waiting for the opportunity to convert them to see the world as it does? Are you present with the people in your life or are you always thinking about something else when you are around them? Are you worried about how they will see you or are you living to the fullest, just letting them see who you really are?

Also, pay attention to now . This moment. Maybe your relationship was once great. Maybe you ever made more money or lived in a nice place. Maybe you want to earn more money, find a new boyfriend, or live in a nicer place. Maybe you are afraid of losing what you have or not getting what you want. However, now it’s all you have, so make it count.

Start today

Tomorrow is generally not a better day to start. You won’t be any less lazy tomorrow. However, you could be wiser tomorrow. You can be even wiser the day you take your last breath.  That is not an excuse not to do something now . Planning may be essential, but procrastination is not. If you want to do something, be it write a book or visit the Taj Mahal, take action today. Save money for your trip, write a page or a sentence from your book, or at least go to bed early and set the alarm for 5:00 am so you always have time to work on your dreams first thing in the morning … in the morning.

Don’t live someone else’s life

Steve Jobs said, “Our time is limited. Don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” He was correct . Our time is limited and living someone else’s life will not make us happy. Your life is your gift, your present (no pun intended, although it is good).

You can do whatever you want with it, whether you want to live like a hermit, conquer the world, climb Everest, or sit on your couch. It is just your gift and it is yours, until you realize that you are not really living your life, but are trying to please others. And just as life is your gift , you are a gift to the world . Don’t be afraid to share it – When you realize all this, you will be able to enjoy life more because you will make sure that it is too short to waste it. Don’t waste time with unnecessary irritations, live in the present and enjoy every second you spend breathing .
